The lab of UC Davis nematologist Shahid Siddique was well represented at the international Society of Nematologists' recent meeting in Baltimore.

UC Davis Professor Emerita Valerie Moroz Williamson of the Department of Plant Pathology is the recipient of the Society of Nematologists' highest honor: Honorary Member.

Williamson, a fellow of the Society of Nematology (SON) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), received the plaque, inscribed with "For Outstanding Contributions to Nematology,"  at its recent meeting in Baltimore. 

UC Davis Professor Shahid Siddique of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, received the 2026 Outstanding Educator Award--the Excellence in Teaching Award--at the annual meeting of the international Society of Nematologists (SON) held in Baltimore.

Nematologist Shahid Siddique, associate professor, UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, is the newly announced recipient of the 2026 Excellence-in-Teaching Award from the international Society of Nematologists.

He will be honored at SON’s 65th annual meeting, set July 6-10 in Baltimore, Md. 

UC Davis nematologists shared the international spotlight at the 64th annual meeting of the Society of Nematologists (SON), held in Victoria, British Columbia.

Doctoral candidate Alison Blundell of the laboratory of associate professor Shahid Siddique, UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, is the recipient of the 2025 John M. Webster Outstanding Student Award from the Society of Nematologists.

UC Davis Distinguished Professor Emeritus Howard Ferris, internationally recognized for his “exceptional, wide-ranging and unparalleled contributions to nematology” over a 64-year career, is a newly elected Honorary Member of the Society of Nematologists (SON), the international organization’s highest award.

Ferris received the award at SON’s 63rd annual conference, held in Park City, Utah.
